Well, here we go again. It is time to head out to the races and take a shot or two for those that can't travel for the show.

The really good photographers were out in full force, so not one moment of action was to be missed

The Lucas Oil Drag Boat series in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
I have been around, but I will put friday as the best single professional session of drag boats I have ever attended.

The fuel boats were throwing around like it was free. New world records for MPH, and I don't think there was one TFH aborted run.

There was absolutely no wind. (Not even a breeze) The water was good, the air was O.K. and the racing was tight.

But, as it gets with drag boat racing, everyone quickly got sick of perfect runs, setting records, perfect weather and the like.

So this guy came out and made a deal with everyone.
He said that he could either part the waters, and have everyone walk through to the other side on dry ground, or he could start a wheelie contest.
So, after some questions of flooding, price of waterfront property and winds, the wheelie contest began.

The first up was the Top Fulers, and they put on quite a show. Lots of nice stands right at the hit of the throttle.

The top alcohol boys were not to be outdone. They were certainly reaching for the sky themselves.

The K boats were certainly up for the challenge and threw some around themselves.

Then it was time for the Top Alcohol Flats and their turn.

Winner of the psycho run of the event, and longest wheelie was big Bill Miller.
He rode this wheelie all the way to the trailer. The boat never set, never did anything nice, kind or proper - but he never lifted.
One TAF driver merely said; "He crashed the thing four or five times, he just stayed dry." :)

Jim was trying to win the contest, but the thing chined and he just missed the medal stand.

Big jeff showed us how it was to be won, and took the title for the event.

Unfortunately, he did not stick the landing, and the East German judge tried to steal the gold medal away from him.

"No! No! No! Stop this junk! This ain't my fault. Let's just drive."

this guy didn't win the wheelie award, but he did take home the hardware for the coolest flat on property.

The K 7come11 did catch a wake in the turn and rolled over on Saturday, but was ready to go on Sunday.

The crackers put on a pretty good show, running deck to deck again and again.

"Hey, is it too late for the contest??"

For the life of me, I can't remember what ET this guy ran. It was a 3-something. 3-seventy, er . . . ??

So glad that Nick is looking great after his cancer brush. Sooo good to have him in boat racing.

Someone said that some guy brought the pizza, but I never saw any.

"Hey. Everybody. Caption me. I dare ya."
Well, till next time, kids.
